Olympic flame ignites creative flair in Mike

By Katia Harston, Chief Reporter Thursday 28th June 2012
Pd27467 Torch relay: The Olympic Flame on its route through Barnsley.

A singer-songwriter was so inspired by the Olympic torch relay visit to Barnsley he decided to write a tune about it.

Mike Collins has based his song lyrics on various phrases that appear on the Olympic Spirit website.

He's tried to capture what 'the spirit' of the Olympic Games really means, and has included words from the website by American president Barack Obama.

Mike wrote, produced, recorded and sang the track, called Olympic Torch Anthem, and even filmed the footage for the video which shows the torch arriving in Lundwood on Monday.
