Strike over as bus drivers accept pay deal

Bus drivers who staged a series of strikes over three months have accepted a pay deal from Stagecoach.

Bus drivers who staged a series of strikes over three months have accepted a pay deal from Stagecoach.

The drivers, who are members of the Unite union, wanted parity with drivers working for other South Yorkshire bus firms.

They voted to accept the improved offer in a ballot on Friday.

Stagecoach Yorkshire managing director Paul Lynch said: "We are pleased that the union has accepted our latest offer and we now look forward to putting this matter behind us.

"Most importantly, it means that our passengers will no longer have their bus services disrupted by unnecessary strike action."
