Machine fire at scrap company

A fire broke out at a scrap company on Tuesday after machinery caught light.

Two engines from Barnsley and another from Cudworth were called to C Soar and Sons, on Tank Row, Stairfoot, at about 7.15pm.

They spent two-and-a-half hours at the site which is used to dismantle transformers for electricity companies.

A company spokesman said the damage had been contained."We're open as usual. There's not a lot of damage," she said.
