THE headteacher of a failing Darfield school has resigned after 20 years in the job.

Colin Wilkinson went on long term sick when Darfield Valley was put in special measures – Ofsted’s worst category – in March.

He was replaced by Colin Lee, headteacher at St Mary’s on Stocks Lane, Barnsley.
