Driver died 'doing what he loved'

THE family of a Notton man killed in a car crash said he died doing what he loved.

Tom Cole, 23, of Bleakley Avenue, died when his blue Vauxhall Tigra was in collision with a VW Beetle on Lee Lane, Royston.

His dad Martin, 50, said: "His car was his life, he came in from work and the first thing he did was wash and polish his car. This is why I find it bemusing that it should have been a car accident. The only thing I can think is that he was doing what he wanted and driving his car when he died.

"We are just thinking about the good things out of a bad situation."

Tom's mum Caroline,49, said he would be missed by everyone and thanked his friends for their support. His cousin Jenna Crafts, 23, said he was the 'best person you could ever meet'.

The former Royston High School pupil and mechanic leaves a son, Cieran Domanic Cole, and a fiancee, Lucy Ruffler.

Police believe Tom had been travelling along Lee Lane and partially crossed into the opposite side of the road, colliding with a VW Beetle at about 7.15pm on Sunday.
