Harvey and owner feeling just dandy
By EMMA SPENCER
MEET the winner of this year's Dandy Dog competition - Harvey a seven month-old King Charles spaniel.
Owner Valda Cruise, of Coronation Drive, Bolton on Dearne was overjoyed when he was crowned Barnsley's top dog at the final on Monday.
Harvey, who has a calm nature, won over the judges with his looks and his obedience.
Valda said: "He has been a brilliant from day one, we couldn't have picked a better one."
Fellow King Charles spaniel Molly came second much to the delight of her owner Steven Brown of Brinckman Street, Barnsley.
He said: "She is sometimes timid but she has done really well. On Monday she was a model."
Almost 600 dogs entered this year's competition and the final ten were selected by public votes.
