Barnsley band on the 'Run'

BARNSLEY band Glassyouth is preparing to release a second single and video called 'Run'.

The band was formed in 2006 by Sam Stevens, Oliver Yonchev, Sean Parkin, Pat Holding and Leroy Smith - then known as The Headliners.

But the renamed group has this year being playing several gigs in London and is continuing a tour, which will see them visit Barnsley next month to play at Burn Down the Disco and at BomFest.

The new single will be released on Monday, July 6, but the band has given the Chronicle access to the video so you can watch it here first - just click on the 'screen' below.

The group formed as The Headliners and won two national unsigned band competitions the following year.

The Headliners played at Glastonbury festival and T4 on the Beach, as well as support slots for 'Mark Ronson', 'The Holloways' and 'The Wombats'.

Since then they have spent lots of time in the recording studio with producer Alan Smyth - who has previously worked with Arctic Monkeys, Reverend and the Makers and Pulp - and emerged as Glassyouth.
