A NUISANCE neighbour who attacked a woman with a TV remote control has been booted out of her house under new council powers and given an asbo.

Mum-of-two Julie Greenwood, 37, lived in a privately rented home at Princess Street, Barnsley, but it was boarded-up this week making her homeless.

Greenwood has a history of antisocial behaviour. She was kicked out of a council house on Essex Road, Worsbrough Common, in January 2005, after similar antics caused misery there.

The latest eviction is the first time Barnsley Council has used its powers to kick someone out of a privately rented home. A spokesman said the action was not taken lightly.
