An animal charity is trying to re-home a "problem cat" in time for Christmas.
Dexter is a two- year- old white cat and has been taken in by the Cats Protection League because he has specific needs.
Cats Protection is looking for an experienced cat owner who can give the deaf pet a permanent home and let him live the way he wants.
Anne Warriner said: "He is the most beautiful looking cat but will never be cuddly. The problem is he hasn't been socialised properly or handled. Deaf cats are normally extremely friendly but he is frightened and confused."
She and her colleagues are looking for someone with a big house and garden away from a main road because of Dexter's deafness, and a house with no children.
Anne: "We want to find him somewhere sooner rather than later because we don't want him to get settled with our fosterer and then have to uproot him again. We do want him to settle into a new life because he is a special lad and desperately needs something that is just right for him."
If anyone can give Dexter a new home contact Anne Warriner on 712157 or Sally Hannett on 382748.
