Ex-West End star to join musical

A FORMER West End stage star has been chosen as leading lady in the new musical written by Barnsley's Dave Cherry.

Fran Davies, 26, who starred in musicals such as Mama Mia and Les Miserables in London, said she is enjoying working with Dave, known for his amusing songs including 'Stairfoot Roundabout'.

Dave, of Harborough Hill Road, said: "She came along to the casting, came up to me and said 'Hi Dave, I'm Frances' and she gave me goosepimples. It was the strangest feeling I've ever had in my life and I just knew she was my leading lady."
