Best pals share top cub award

GOOD friends Jack Hogan and Billy Drew were so inseparable they won the same award.

The pair from Fearnley Road, Hoyland Common have both been crowned 'cub of the year' by the Hoyland Common Scout Group.

Jack's mum Billie said they deserved the accolade after attending all events together. She said: "They know each other from going to school together at Hoyland Common Primary but have really enjoyed it at scouts.

"They were really pleased to win and I think they deserved it. They got a lovely plaque each with their names on it."

The pair went on various camping trips and took part in activities like swimming and cycling.

The cubs meet at the scout hut on Tinker Lane, Hoyland Common on Tuesdays at 7pm. Anyone interested should call Keith on 270268.
