THREE teenage pals died at the scene of an horrific accident after the car they were in spun out of control, flipped onto its roof and hit a stone wall.
Driver Michael Scholey, 19, his girlfriend Kirsty Goulding, 17, and her best friend Kelly Cooper, 16, were traveling towards Darfield along Doncaster Road when Michael made a 'sudden and violent' steering movement.
That caused the sporty Peugeot 207 to veer towards the kerb and go into a spin, a Sheffield inquest was told. As the car hit the grass verge the front bumper dug into the earth and flipped the car onto its roof.
Police accident investigator PC David Marley said the vehicle then smashed into a stone wall at the entrance to Tyers Hall Farm, between Ardsley and Darfield. It was impossible to calculate the speed but the car was probably travelling near to the 60mph limit.
