Diver, 11, scoops gold and silver medals

AN 11-YEAR-OLD diving sensation is celebrating after scooping two gold medals and a silver medal.

Catriona Fraser of Windermere Road, Penistone, won the one metre and five metre dive and came second in the three metre competition beating off 18 other contestants in her age category.

The G Star Diving Championships were held at the John Charles Centre for Sports, Leeds, last weekend.

St John's Junior school pupil Catriona said: "It was great to win and I have trained really hard for it. I'm looking forward to taking part in the national championships now. I will get nervous because some of the dives I have only done a couple of times but the heights don't bother me.

"My next goal is to win at the nationals and one day compete for Great Britain in the Olympics."
