Elsecar man wins Churchill award

AN EDUCATION specialist has been awarded a fellowship to carry out research on men recovering from mental health illnesses.

Neil Morris, 53, from Cortworth Place, Elsecar, was selected from thousands of applicants by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, a charity that specialise in sending fellows abroad.

The training and development specialist said the real work would begin when he goes to Australia and New Zealand in September.

He said: "I felt privileged when I found out I had been selected as it confirmed the idea I had was of value. "Australia and New Zealand are many years ahead when it comes to mental health rehabilitation.
