Probe delays gas blast OAP's funeral

THE funeral of a pensioner who died eight weeks after a gas blast in her home has been delayed beacuse of a police investigation.

Margaret Wilson suffered severe burns when the home she shared with her husband of 51 years exploded hours after a car fire, involving a stolen car, on the pavement outside.

After the explosion Margaret was taken to a specialist burns unit at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, but died on Sunday.

A cremation service was planned for today but the funeral has been called off because police would not release her body. Her grieving family has been told to expect a delay of up to two weeks before the ceremony can be rearranged.
