He may be 70 but Gerald Silcock proves twice a week he's still alive and kicking.
Gerald, of Barnwell Crescent, Wombwell, plays football with men half his age every Monday and Thursday evenings at Honeywell, Barnsley.
A former Yorkshire Traction bus driver, he was asked by some ex-colleagues to play with them five years ago and hasn't looked back since.
He said: "We're all ages, from teenagers to my age, and they let me have a kick at them every now and then. They try to be careful with me but it's the camaraderie more than anything else - my legs can't run as fast as theirs but my brain does."
Gerald has been a referee since 1980 and only recently stepped down as a trainer at Barnsley Academy.
