Charity shop mystery

DO any of our readers recognise the lads on a football photograph taken in the season 1959-60?

A clue is on the football at the feet of one of the players where the letters GJB appear.

The photograph was found by a member of staff in the Bluebell Wood Hospice charity shop at High Street, Wombwell. Before handing it in to the Barnsley Chronicle, the staff had the photo on display in the shop to see if anyone recognised it, but no-one has claimed it.

The photograh appears to be that of a school football team and it would be interesting to know if it is from the Barnsley area.

A spokesman for the charity shop said: "It is a mystery where the photograph came from. We just wondered if any of your readers recognise the lads." If anyone has lost the photograph, or can identify the team or the names of any of the players, please contact Kath Parkin: 734255
