I was very concerned to hear about the problems recently at the Elsecar Park.
Even more so when people who have voluntarily provided maintenance of the gardens have had to put up with problems of vandals, who ultimately pushed the park keeper into committing an offence.
We have attended this park for years with our grandchildren and are aware of how it is used and appreciated by children, parents and grandparents. I do hope this will continue and that the vandals are not allowed to take over.
A more pressing concern is what has been offered to help the park keeper to deter vandals, and what presence/input did the police have in this. It would be too easy to allow the few vandals to take over and spoil it for the majority who enjoy this park. More importantly, were any of these vandals reprimanded for constant spoiling the good work that people did in the gardens?
Please ensure this park continues to be kept to the standard it is, so families can carry on enjoying it in the future.
