Steven Wilkinson, Willow Close, Hoyland I watched another display by the Reds highlighting the gap between us and the two championship sides who have visited Oakwell.
Why are we behind? Is it the fault of the manager, the players, the fans? Or are we doomed to relegation because of financial restraints on our club?
I thought about the squad Keith Hill had at his disposal when he arrived and realised there wasn’t one. Many of last season’s players were on loan, leaving him few to choose from. I believe Mr Robins realised he had no money and no squad and didn’t have the fight to try to make things work as he didn’t want his record blemished by a possible relegation.
Assets like Hume, Anderson De Silva and Campbell Ryce were let go for hardly a penny. I hope the fans realise Mr Hill has a difficult job with the constraints he has. The players he has signed don’t look good enough, but they must be given time to gel. He must also be given time to get the best out of them.
I also hope he stops blaming the fans. This is a difficult time and we all need to try and pull together.
