Today
Barnsley artist Fiona Stephenson specialises in hand-painted oil on canvas reproductions of Gil Elvgren - the best pin-up artist in the history of American illustration. This saucy selection of artwork provides a nostalgic visit to the glamour of the American 40's, 50's and 60's pin-up era. As the trademark story goes, the women are sexy but not sleazy, and often find themselves in very comic situations. The effect, however, should be joyful as there's little room for modern cynicism in pin-up art.
