Questioning the value of contemporary craft within the current landscape of branding and luxury, the exhibition investigates perceptions of value and the increasing interest in provenance and production narratives connected with the things we buy and use. The current desire for authenticity, quality and craftsmanship is redefining notions of luxury. Terms like ‘hand-crafted’ and ‘craftsmanship’ are being adopted by global brands as an indicator of value and worth. Added Value? questions whether craft is the new language for luxury, featuring work by makers Zoe Arnold, Bompas and Parr, Carréducker, Simon Hasan, Tracy Kendall and Oliver Ruuger.
